The first pilot for assessing the usability of the EU Mobile App for Cancer Prevention has been a success

Pilot A BUMPER

During October and November, BUMPER partners conducted face-to-face pilot sessions (Pilot A) to assess the usability of the EU Mobile App for Cancer Prevention. The main focus was on app features, navigation, user interfaces, operability, and design. Participants interacted with high-fidelity wireframes in a mock-up setting, identifying challenges, providing feedback, and suggesting improvements. The 2nd Pilot Phase will be the User Acceptance Test on the developed application in multiple languages.

Pilot A was conducted in seven pilot sites: Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain. The participants were consenting adults aged 18 and above.

In the session conducted by the Cancer Society of Finland, the participants thought the app should give practical tips to healthy lifestyle choices and concrete information about the benefits of cancer prevention actions. During the focus group discussion conducted by the Portuguese Cancer League, participants pointed out they appreciated the opportunity to discuss an innovative app idea not currently available in the market. The participants of the session conducted by the Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of Valencia Region (FISABIO) were very motivated both by the brief explanation of the BUMPER project and by the navigation in the mock-up. The Hungarian League Against Cancer’s youngest participants exhibited enthusiasm, working independently to generate creative ideas.

With all this fruitful feedback, the BUMPER Consortium is looking forward to the next pilot of the project, Pilot B, scheduled for the coming months. Stay tuned and follow the project’s progress by visiting bumper.cancer.eu.
